Physio-Led Rehabilitation Pilates

ASH Physio-Pilates offers physio-led Pilates Rehabilitation Programmes using the APPI Method which are tailored to your needs and will help you achieve your goals in the comfort of your own home or work-place. The main aim of APPI Pilates method is to develop the connection to deep postural ‘core’ muscles. These muscles support the spine throughout movements, enhance normal movement patterns and improve body alignment. The outcome is the creation of a more efficient body that allows you to enjoy daily activities while being less prone to injuries.

Pilates & Pelvic Floor

1 in 3 women experience symptoms related to their pelvic floor at some point in their lives. Symptoms like pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and/or sexual dysfunction (and many others) are all related to pelvic floor dysfunction. Pilates allows us to work on improvement of pelvic floor function in relation to the body as a whole. Having a broad experience in the field of Women's Health Physiotherapy gives me the confidence and skills to tailor the exercises to individual needs. Great understanding of pelvic floor anatomy, functions, as well as dysfunctions allows me to create the perfect programme and offer the very best support.

Pilates for Ante & Post-Natal Women

WHO recommends that pregnant women should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity every week throughout the pregnancy. However, the physiological, biomechanical and postural changes that occur during the childbearing year might be challenging for many. Modified Pilates exercises during the antenatal period might be a great tool that helps with discomfort that can be felt when the body adapts to create and deliver the little human. Techniques that support pelvic floor health and look holistically at the body might help with the labour and recovery in post-natal period. Modified Pilates exercise also help with gentle return to physical activity after the baby is born.
